Youth Volunteering at Upton Country Park

If you are aged between 13 and 17 and looking for a way to get involved in and give back to your community, then you are warmly invited to join our Youth Volunteers.

The group meets once a month to get involved with fun outdoor activities, followed by an opportunity for you to lend us your voice and thoughts in our feedback session around the campfire, and get involved in organising youth events at the Country Park.

When: on the last Saturday of the month, 1pm- 3pm; meet at the Education Centre

Christchurch Sea Cadets

Our Unit is split over two sites, our Winter Headquarters at Portfield Hall and our Summer Headquarters at Christchurch Quay. As a Sea Cadet you can go to sea, learn to sail and do adventure training, plus get extra skills to give you a great head start in life. You will also get the chance to make new friends and have fun. We are separated in to two age groups: Junior cadets for ages 10 to 12 years and Sea Cadets for ages 12 to 18 years.

Scouts Bournemouth

Scouts take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing.  As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, or even how to fly a plane.  There’s something for every young person.  It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world. We change lives by offering 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

Scouts Christchurch

Scouts are between 10½ and 14 years old. Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp. Rock climbing, potholing, gliding, photography and international experiences are just some of the things they get up to.

In Christchurch district we have scout troops at Town, Jumpers, Somerford, Mudeford, Highcliffe, Burton, Bransgore and Hurn. Mudeford is a sea scout troop and Hurn is an air scout troop.
