Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the world-famous exhibition from the Natural History Museum, is returning to Dorset Museum & Art Gallery from 19 July until 3 November 2024.

Over 100 powerful photographs capture fascinating animal behaviour, spectacular species, and the breathtaking beauty of our planet. The images shine a light on stories and species from around the world and show the impact of human activity on the planet, in ways that words cannot.

Family Activities this Summer:

Summer Animal Trail – Take part in our trail to spot animals around the museum! The trail is a self-led activity available every day of the summer holidays- just ask for a trail sheet at the Front Desk.

Wildlife Wednesday

Every Wednesday 24 July – 28 August from 10am – 12noon

These sessions involve handling objects from our natural history collections and craft activities where you will be able to make your own butterfly specimens to take home with you. No booking is required for these drop-in activities which will be taking place across our Natural Dorset Gallery and John White’s Learning Centre.
