Here at YMCA Bournemouth/The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre we believe holiday clubs are an essential service to offer families in the local area, providing children with safe activities during the school holidays and parents with cost-effective childcare.

We host a wide range of activities for all 5 – 12 year olds. Each day starts between 8.30am – 9.15am (registration) and finishes at 5.15pm (collection) All activities are fully supervised with a head coach and backed up with an assistant coach, all staff are DBS checked and we have fully qualified first aiders on shift throughout the day.

Ducklings/Ducklings Adv
Children progress in fun and friendly atmosphere towards STA Awards.
Age: 2 ½ – 4 ½ years

Fishes/Fishes Adv
Developing basic safety awareness, the ‘class’ scenario, basic movement and water confidence skills. Swimmers may use aids, e.g. woggles, floats etc …
Age: 4 + years
Time: 15:30 – 16:00 and 16:00 – 16:30

Frogs/Turtles
Developing safe entries including submersion travel up to 10 metres on their front & back, progress rotation skills and water safety knowledge. At this stage the swimmer will be assessed without the use of aids & support.
Age: 4 + yrs
