Behold, this fee-fi-fo-fabulous reimagined romp through a classic tale you thought you knew!
When a heinous henchman kidnaps a cow and a princess from the downtrodden town of Boggy Bottom, young Jack finds himself on an adventure he thought only existed in story books!
Expect a wholesome hero, a punch-packing princess, a feisty fairy, a simple sibling, a witty widow, a slippery servant, a kind-hearted king… and a cow with some beef. Oh… and a very large magical plant, of course!
From the Coronation Street cobbles to the sands of Bournemouth, soap star Calum Lill will star the villainous Fleshcreep, packed with a side order of dastardly deeds and mischief. Best known for his role as the Corrie bad boy Joel Deering, Calum has also been in Hollyoaks, Holby City, and Doctors. Best known for presenting Milkshake! on Channel 5, panto favourite, David Ribi, bounds back to the Bournemouth Pavilion this festive season to take on the role of Jack. And Bournemouth’s favourite comic Noel Brodie returns as Silly Simon bringing huge laughs and lots of mayhem as he tries to help his brother Jack on his quest to save the Princess.
This production is full of sparkling sets, lavish costumes, amazing song and dance numbers, giggles galore and bags of audience participation.
What a fantastic way to spend a Tuesday evening in our favourite theatre in Bournemouth, watching the Jack & the Beanstalk Pantomime. With a Stella cast, fantastic choreography, hilarious characters and some amazing 3D special effects.
Oh what a brilliant 2.5 hours (thats including the interval) we had! Full of music from chart toppers to some nods to musical theatre there was something for everyone, plenty of laughter of course and a great gripping storyline. My daughter was on the edge of her seat quite a few times when the 3D special effects came to light in the second act and I thought the tiled frame with different flashing lights surrounding the stage was fabulous but I was also very impressed with the stage set up! Now when it comes to our favourite characters Mini Mumbler (10) was definitely loving Rachel Grundy who played Princess Jill will all her sparkly dresses and fun songs and I thought Simple Simon was really funny and its no wonder he is celebration his 10th anniversary this year what a run! “Guess who’s back, back again!”
A huge shout out also goes to the amazingly talented Ensemble Dancers and the young children from The Stage Doors School of Dance & Drama it was a joy watching them all on stage. Mini Mumbler was in awe of their dancing!
