Family life constantly brings us new challenges and opportunities, some of which you will need legal advice and support with to help navigate your way through.

This is where Laceys can help.

We are an award-winning firm based in Bournemouth, providing legal support for you and your family, whatever stage of life you are in.

Are you going through a relationship breakdown?

The decision to separate can be very stressful and raises questions that generate fear and insecurity.

Where will I live? When will I see my children? How can I afford to pay my bills? Will I be left with nothing? Will my children be turned against me?  How will I cope on my own?…

At Laceys we are proud to offer our clients a full range of services, from mediation through to other dispute resolution options, allowing them to decide how this emotionally challenging time in their life is handled.

Buying or Selling a Home?

Moving home is often the most expensive purchase of our lives, so make sure you get the right team behind you. Our approachable conveyancing team will guide you through this daunting and stressful time, making the process as smooth as possible.

Moving in with your partner, but not married?

If you are one of this growing group of co-habiting households in the UK, contrary to what many believe, there is no legal significance to the term “common law” wife or husband.  Make sure that your rights are protected should one of you die or if the relationship breaks down, by drafting a Will and / or Co-habitation Agreement.

Are you getting married or entering a civil partnership?

Then you may want to consider a Pre-nup. We agree, not the most romantic way to start a union, but with 42% of marriages ending in divorce, it may be the most sensible, especially if you have existing personal or business assets.

Making or needing to change a Will?

Six in 10 (59%) parents do not have a Will, or have one that is out of date due to a change in circumstances, maybe the birth of a child, change in relationship or a new home. A Will is simple to do and provides peace of mind that, when the time comes, you are leaving your affairs in order.

Wanting to pass on some wealth?

You don’t have to be retired to start planning how you would like to pass on your wealth. Laceys have broad experience when it comes to lifetime planning, and can advise you on the many options available to make sure you make the right decisions for you and future generations.

When things go wrong….

Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go as planned. Whether you have an inheritance dispute over a Will, a dispute with a neighbour over a boundary, or are trying to recover rent from a tenant, our Dispute Resolution team can help.
