Corfe Castle

Teddy Bear Zip Line

Bring your teddy or borrow a fury Corfe Castle veteran and send it flying down the teddy bear zip line.

Date: 17th February – 4th April 2025 

The Conqueror’s Castle family quest – Can you help a King build a castle on our new family quest? Hunt the castle ruins for the quest boards, note down your answers as you go to earn your prize.

Treemendous Tree Trail – Head to the Castle reception and purchase your activity trail booklet (£3.50). The trail will take you on a trip around the park to learn more about Durlston’s treemendous trees and you might just win a prize!

February Half Term at The Tank Museum

Camouflage in Combat. Enjoy family activities investigating how tanks kept themselves hidden on the battlefield, from WWI to the present day with interactive exhibitions, 300 tanks, kids’ activities like trails, crafts, games and more.

Illuminate at The Blue Pool

Museum of East Dorset

Who’s That Pokémon? – Put on your Trainer’s cap and grab your Pokédex, Poké Balls and a Potion or two, because everyone’s favourite pocket monsters are coming to the Museum of East Dorset! So get out there and find some Pokémon- and good luck in catching ’em all!

On the Tamagotchi Garden Adventure Trail, you’ll complete tasks, hunt for snacks and water, and do activities with your pet to fill their happiness meter. Suitable for children of pre-school and early primary school ages.

Follow our discovery trail up Poole High Street to find out more about the hidden histories of the buildings and the people who lived there.

SEA LIFE Weymouth

Date: 1st January – 16th February 2025

Visit the Seahorse Hotel – Meet and learn all about these incredible creatures, as well as other amazing animals throughout the aquarium. Take part in an interactive trail around the aquarium. Design your own Seahorse. Photo opportunities. Get a reward for completing the trail.

Stour Valley and Kingfisher Barn

Date: 17th – 21st February 2025 

Trails – educational, nature focused trails run throughout the school holidays. The trail runs through part of the nature reserve.

Each trail costs £3 and each completed trail wins a prize. No need to book.

Studland Bay

Date: 15th-23rd February + 24th – 31st May & 1st June 2025  Time: 10am-3pm

Become a Nature Detective – Do you fancy yourself an amateur detective? Do you love nature? Come and borrow one of our Nature Detective bags free of charge this half term at the Knoll Beach Office (non-monetary deposit is required).

The Walled Garden

Bug Trail – It’s all about the bugs at The Walled Garden as our signature trail for children returns! £3 a map.

Date: 18th & 20th February 2025   Time: 11am and 2pm ( 30–40 mins)

£8.50 per ticket need to be booked in advance head to the Walled Garden website to book.

Trails at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest

There are plenty of trails to discover and explore at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest.

Play Trail – You can wriggle through giant snakes in the ‘Snake Pit’, attempt the ‘Crocodile Crossing’ and balance on the fallen forest of ‘Timber’.

Trail Length – 1 mile.
Accessibility – Suitable for pushchairs.


Music Trail – Discover our lakeside Music Trail. At each station you’ll find a musical or percussion instrument, each beautifully tuned to produce a soft ambient sound.

Accessible for all ages and abilities.


Tree Top Trail – Halfway along the Play Trail, there is the option to divert onto the Tree Top Trail. The wooden walkway takes you up amongst the trees and allows you to get a real bird’s eye view of the Forest.

Trail Height & Length – 5 metre high and 200 metre long
Accessibility – Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs however, there is a connecting path from start to finish.


Gruffalo Trail – If you venture into the deep dark wood you may bump into the Gruffalo and his friends. Can you find them all?


*Brand New for 2025* Stick Man Trail – Pick up your Stick Man Activity Pack for £4 from the Information Point at the Visitor Centre.

Trail Length – 1.9km – The trail starts at the Totem Pole.
Accessibility – Mostly level gravel surface, suitable for pushchairs
Age – This trail is aimed at families with children aged 3-9, but can be enjoyed by all

Upton Country Park
