Orphaned at a young age, Mary Lennox is sent to live with her distant and grieving uncle in his gloomy Yorkshire manor. In her loneliness, Mary discovers a long-forgotten garden behind a locked gate. As she tends to the neglected garden, its natural beauty and vitality are slowly restored—just as hope and love begin to rekindle in the lives of her new family.
This Tony Award-winning musical, with its hauntingly beautiful score by Lucy Simon and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman, is a captivating tale of hope, resilience, and the power of nature.
