HE AQUATICS Babes & Pre-school Children Swim School, offers exciting and engaging swimming classes, following the STA Awards program and Aqua Sensory teaching approach.

Our classes are full of fun with exciting themes, but follow the same structure, which promotes recognition for you both to build the confidence and join in with the group activities. Our creative classes engage your child, develop their communication, coordination, movement skills, encourage exploration, creativity and self-awareness.

Helena is specially trained aquatic specialist and swim teacher with background in Visual and Performance Arts since 2002. She creates stimulating, fun, nurturing, calm and safe pool environment for mums and dads to share precious time with their little ones as they enter their magical bonding and create lifelong memories.

Classes are held at Hotel Collingwood with a 12 weeks term. Helena also offers group and private classes at your home pool for nervous children, water phobic children, learning disabilities children or for siblings/friends who would like to take a private class together. Everyone can book a FREE CONSULTATION and pay for a couple of TASTER CLASSES before committing the full term.

SEAHORSES 0-6 months age new baby specific program is laying a foundation to water confidence and swimming.

DOLPHINS 6 months to 1.5 years. Learn to guide your baby gently and keep close contact with safety holds.

OCTOPI 1.5 to 2.5 years age toddlers dive into interactive games with the floatation aids, vibrant toys, pool and friends.

WHALES 2.5 to 8 years age swimming journey continues as Helena helps children explore all basic swimming strokes.

The disability programme offers a range of competitive and recreational sport opportunities as well as ensuring that all programmes run by the Community Sports Trust (FA Para Talent Hub) are accessible and inclusive for all players aged 7–16 years old.

These are weekly football sessions for any player over the age of five with any form of physical, learning or behaviour difficulty. The sessions provide an opportunity for players to train and play competitive football or follow a recreational pathway.

U12 session – Players aged 5-12

Thursday between 4–5.30pm at the Littledown Centre

U16 Session – Players aged 12–16

Wednesday between 5.30–6.30pm at The Bourne Academy

Senior sessions – Players aged 16+

BCP Short Breaks for Children and Young People with SEND

The BCP Council Short Breaks scheme is for families of children and young people, aged up to 19 years, with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.

We have different activities to choose from such as arts and crafts, activity days (on the beach in the summer!), swimming, archery, gym & trampolining, watersports etc.

Disability Cricket is for those with learning and/or physical disabilities (any age welcome).  It is run by qualified cricket coaches for a donation of £1.

Club Linwood provides extra curricular clubs and activities for young people with an Education Health Care Plan from Year 1 to Year 14 (children aged 6-18yrs). Quiet Mornings at The Tank Museum for SEN Children/Adults

Check the Tank Museum website for monthly dates.

From 9-11am, all sounds and interactives will be turned off. The session is primarily for, but not limited to, children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities and their families, those living with mental health needs, adults living with dementia and visitors who may prefer a more relaxed experience.

SEN Activities for Children and Young People

TERM TIME ACTIVITIES:

Fortnightly Tuesday soft play sessions at Lemur Landings (Tower Park) (6.30 to 8.30pm). This is a family session which you can access with your brothers and sisters, however you must be accompanied by an adult.

A weekly Sunday family swim session at Montacute School Pool (10.00am to 12 noon). Children must be accompanied by an adult at this session

SEND Sessions – Rock Reef

Thursdays, 4-5.30pm (term time only)

A new session to offer a safe environment for individuals to express themselves during a closed/protected session, enjoying the quieter and less hectic environment as experienced during a typical busy day.

Activities are suitable for children age 4 and up.

Somerford ARC Community Center

0-8yr project: Our term time group provides breakfast and toddler play for £1pp, it is a comfortable environment for the families and our half term group offers children’s crafting activities for a donation of £1pp making it accessible to all.
