XR Families Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole invite you to join us in an environmentally friendly and economically sustainable festive event.
Come along to celebrate our community life, while reducing wasteful and unnecessary consumption at our Festive Family Fun Day.
TOY SWAP:
Bring clean toys and books in good condition that your children no longer use. (Please make sure that your children have agreed to the toys/books being given away, but be assured that your children are entitled to change their mind). Teach your children to gift, receive, recycle and reuse when they pick their new toys/books to take home with them.
ARTS & CRAFTS STATIONS:
Our Craft Stations will have lots to keep the whole family entertained including potato printing Christmas cards with homemade paints, creating fabulous stencil work and making bath bombs.
STORYTELLING:
We’ll be holding a children’s storytelling area, where they can tell us how they feel about the environment whilst weaving together their own eco story throughout the day.
WELLBEING: A Trauma specialist with extensive experience of working with children, families and adults will be available to talk about how we can best discuss the climate crisis with our children (of all ages) for anyone who wants support in this area.
GIFTS:
A range of sustainable gifts supporting small and independent brands will be available for those of you shopping for environmentally conscious gifts.
FOOD & DRINK:
Drinks, snacks and some tasty hot vegan food will be available throughout the day. If possible please bring your own cups and bowls!
DISCO-BEDIENCE
A flash mob disco dance event featuring top 1970s hits, cheesy disco dance moves and great 1970s style costumes. Everybody welcome to join in. Boogie on down. See XR events page for rehearsals and link to the video if you want to learn the moves in advance.
