We have been invited to visit the new Cosmo Restaurant in Bournemouth to try out their wide range of culinary delights. If you never heard of Cosmo before it is an All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant which opened up in the Summer 2022 right in the heart of Bournemouth town making it the perfect spot date night, casual lunch or a family dinner.
The restaurant itself has a gorgeous interior which is warm and welcoming, it was very clean & spotless not only in the restaurant but also in the restrooms and there is plenty of different seating areas from the smaller booth table which seats up to 4 people (which we are opted for) to large family style tables with plenty of highchairs and enough room for pushchairs or wheelchairs to navigate around.
When it comes to the food there really is a dish for everyone which for a mum of a fussy eater is heaven for sure and it means there will be no food wasted because the kids can choose what exactly they want to have on their plate for dinner. With over 150 freshly prepared dishes available you can go on a trip around the world. From Italian, British, Greek, Japanese, French, Chinese, Indian whatever your craving is Cosmo has got you covered. It is all lined up very appealing to the eye and everything is labeled which is important for those who might have certain food intolerances.
The kids loved going up by themselves and choose what they would like to eat. Mini Mumbler opted for sushi as a starter and even tried some she never had before and as a main she went for noodles, duck pancakes and some pizza whilst the Teen filled his plate with his usual favourites which consisted of chicken stripes, chips, prawn crackers and pitta bread (can you guess he’s my fussy eater).
I am a huge fan of sushi which tasted delicious and out of all the other food I tried the beef in black bean sauce was my favourite. My husband decided to take a food trip around the world he had a small place of nearly every cuisine there was on offer. He especially loved the meat dishes.
The deserts did not disappoint and the kids loved the chocolate fountain and sweets on offer and the Teen was over the moon they had cheesecake which is his favourite and I tried a couple of the mini cakes (which are small enough to not make you feel guilty in trying a couple) the Eton mess cake was delicious but the creme brûlée was my favourite!
We visited on a Saturday at 5.30pm and the restaurant was quite full but the staff where on it and took our drinks order and cleared the plates in no time. The buffet was very well stocked and the chefs restocked it fairy quickly when a dish was empty.
Within the restaurant there are also 2 automated robots with cat faces (who are called Bella & Hola) who work alongside the staff. We saw them driving to a table whilst singing happy birthday and delivering a birthday cake to the birthday child which I thought was a great experience for any child or even grown up to have whilst dining. We personally haven’t tried the robot service on our visit so I can’t say more about it.
Just before we left the restaurant I saw this sign in the reception area which I thought is fantastic all children under 155cm are charged kids price (£10.50). There is a small charge for infants under five years dining at the restaurant which is £2.99. Also if you are a working for NHS, Emergency or the Armed Forces (as well as Students) you can get 10% off the food bill and Student Freshers can dine for only £15 at Cosmo Bournemouth.
You can enjoy lunch for £20.99* and dinner Monday to Thursday for £18.99 and on the weekend for £20.99 with kids prices being £10.50 per head which I found as reasonable seeing the huge variety of food they have on offer. Next time I make sure I won’t be the driver so I can enjoy some of their deliciously sounding cocktails but this time I opted for the unlimited refill of soft drinks which had a good variety to choose from! You can either book online via the Cosmo Bournemouth website or they also take walk in customers but there might be a short waiting time at busy periods. You can find the Cosmo Bournemouth restaurant at 3 St Peters Quarter in St Peter’s Rd, BH1 2AD and their phone number for reservations is 01202 318888.
