Easter Holiday

Easter Egg Hunts & Trails

The National Trust team on Brownsea Island are looking forward to welcoming back day visitors when the island re-opens on Saturday 16 March.

Springtime is a great time to look out for red squirrels as they can often be seen foraging for food to feed their young. Families can burn off energy exploring the island’s natural play area. There are also free trails and activities on offer, and an Easter Egg hunt from 23 March to 14 April with a chocolate prize for all. Try on one of 4 giant bird heads and flap your wings or hop around wearing bunny ears and enjoy some fun family games.

Easter trails are just £3 booking is not required.

This year the National Trust are running Family Bushcraft Workshops to coincide with each school holiday on the Friday and Saturday, starting on 5 and 6 April. Kids and their parents can become wild explorers by learning how to survive and thrive in a natural environment, learning wilderness skills such as wood carving, fire lighting, animal tracking, foraging and den building. Booking essential.

GO EAST at Monkey World this Easter holiday!

The park will be fundraising to put rescued and rehabilitated gibbons, loris and douc back into the wild from their sister sanctuary, Dao Tien, in Vietnam, ran by charity EAST (Endangered Asian Species Trust).

Visitors can learn about our agile acrobats, the gibbons, their plight in the wild, and how Monkey World’s charity, EAST, is boosting the wild population of golden-cheeked gibbons in Vietnam.
This year is a bumper year of release for EAST, who are returning rescued & endangered loris, gibbons & doucs from the black market trade back to protected forest to help grow the wild population.

At Monkey World this Easter holiday, we’ll be supporting the charity through talks, activities, games & stalls all about our work in Vietnam!
Visit go-east.org to find out more about EAST’s work.

PLUS over the bank holiday weekend, Monkey World will be giving away chocolate treats to children who complete the fun Easter Trail!
